Roadside Flowers Health and Beauty
A sea of blue linseed flowers next to a busy dual carriageway is capturing the eyes of passing motorists. The floral display has blossomed across several acres of land alongside the A35 in Dorset, a popular holiday route. But passing drivers have to arrive early to catch the plants in their glory, as the flowers bloom just once a day in the morning and close up in the afternoon.
The plants will eventually produce linseed oil which, as well as helping to preserve cricket bats, is rich in omega-3 oils. The fatty acid is believed to have benefits for the skin, help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and boost the immune system.
